Hmmmmm. thinking aloud: so, a harsh admonishment here from 3QD: (summed up as) don't make written art by studying in a program with other equally enthusiastic hopefuls. Rather (somehow, without benefit of community of equally enthusiastic questioners of the art of writing, which is a beneficial thing the programs mentioned also create), make written art that offers some kind of "hope for a dying planet": 3quarksdaily: Are Our Writers as Lousy as Our Bankers.
Okay: well, first, I'm not exactly sure that the operative enthymeme here is workable in its path from points A to C, but nonetheless there is something provocative and compelling about all of it. More compelling, though, is that its end point is hardly in dispute, or so I suppose. But maybe that assumptive is really the question, then, upon which to begin . . .
