Intolerable Beauty | Chris Jordan | Orion Magazine March-April 2007
Internet at my flat was down again for days :( but it's on now and maybe fixed for good, or so I hope.
Anyways, just to note here that I've been following Orion magazine for several years now and it's become one of the best, especially in emphasizing issues of the environment. The link above is to an interview with photographer Chris Jordan, whose subjects are consumerism's piles of trash. Fascinating and horrifying. What we hardly think about as we course through daily life. Check it out. I'll add I'm not sure what or how much we can really do about the heaps, individually or collectively, which I guess makes it even more a crisis of consumerist overwhelm--it's almost as if it's the perfect [collective] crime, as the discourse in the interview more than indicates.
